For our family of four, the stay cost 3112 FJD (1,466 USD) including the flight, or 519 FJD (245 USD) per day and 130 FJD (61 USD) per person per day.

We spent 6 days in Fiji in March 2019, based around Nadi on the main island of Viti Levu. We swam at Natadola Beach, explored the Lautoka market and ended with 2 nights at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay. For our family of four, the stay cost 3112 FJD (1,466 USD), flight included.

Every trip has its wonders, but in Fiji we believe we found the warmest people on earth. Where else are you welcomed with music, traditional songs and dances as soon as you step off the plane? Where else does everyone greet you, even as you drive past? Where else do people invite you to eat after chatting with you for only a minute? Small details like these make Fijians the kindest people we have ever met: always smiling, helpful, and ready to do anything to make us feel at home. I swear it’s true!

Our stay in Fiji was, to say the least, very relaxing. We swam at Natadola Beach (the most beautiful on Viti Levu), visited the Lautoka market, watched Captain Marvel at the movies and fine-tuned the last details of our trip.

Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay

We used the certificates that come with the annual renewal of our Marriott Bonvoy credit cards to book 2 nights at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, then a category 5 hotel, with houses on stilts in a lagoon setting. On arrival, we were upgraded to one of the largest suites in the resort, with the best sunset view over the sea. A buffet breakfast was included. The package was worth 1500 USD for the 2 nights. What a dream!

2026 update: Marriott Bonvoy dropped its hotel categories in March 2022 in favour of dynamic award pricing. Credit card free-night certificates now cover a set number of points, and you can add points to book a pricier night (source).

Conclusion

Fiji was one of our absolute favourites. Our stay at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay had a lot to do with it, but what stayed with us is the beauty of Viti Levu, its culture, its motto “No hurry, no worry!” and above all the incomparable kindness of its people.
